The Technical University of Cluj-Napoca leads the CALLME project, an ERASMUS+ funded initiative under the 2022 Cooperation Partnerships. The project, titled "Collaborative e-platform for innovation and educational enhancement in medical engineering," involves Technical Universities and SME partners from Cyprus, Latvia, Ireland, and Serbia. CALLME addresses the lack of cooperation among higher education institutions (HEIs), clinics, and businesses across Europe, which hampers the alignment of education with market needs and the adoption of modern research methods and engineering techniques in medical engineering. It introduces the Knowledge Triangle Network to promote the use of STEM methodologies and technologies, increase collaboration among HEIs, clinics, and companies, and enhance gender diversity in research. The project also develops virtual centers and an E-COOL platform for ongoing knowledge exchange and skill transfer, aiming to foster entrepreneurship and innovate educational practices within HEIs. Additionally, CALLME supports standardized course designs for lifelong learning and aims to integrate advanced medical techniques into societal use, thereby contributing to European medical engineering education and research.
