Progress Update for the DEMOER Project

DEMOER (www.dementia-care.eu) is a European funded Project (2019-1-ES01-KA204-063975), which started in November 2019. The consortium of the project consists of partners from Spain, Bulgaria, Cyprus, Belgium, and Turkey. The project is developing an innovative mobile adults training for family members of people suffering from dementia. Dementia is a decline in mental abilities, in which memory, thinking, and judgement are impaired, and the personality may deteriorate. 3rd Project Consortium Meeting

On Thursday, 14 November 2019, the B2ECLoC project consortium met at EUROCY premises. The objective of the meeting was to make final decisions for the completion of the training Curricula and learning resources, as well as to plan for our upcoming robotics co-design workshops in Larnaca, Cyprus. As the title suggests, it is simply a Cyprus Air Quality Service. Nothing more, nothing less. The air quality data of this service is retrieved through Cyprus Open Data Portal. An API is also available as a service for developers and third-party service providers who want to access the data and build added-value services. At the moment, the API is in beta version and is open to everyone for testing. Please, contact us for details.

As the title suggests, it is simply a Cyprus postcodes directory. Nothing more, nothing less. The postcode data of this service is provided by Cyprus Open Data Portal. An API is also available as a service for developers and third-party service providers who want to access postcodes and search for street names. At the moment, the API is in beta version and is open to everyone for testing. The API documentation is located here.

Presentation at ERACON 2019, Paphos, Cyprus

On 2nd May 2019, we presented the initial results of our Erasmus+ project titled: "Tablet based Cognitive Gaming Platform for Seniors" You can find the presentation at: “Senior Citizen Cognitive Training Opportunities: A comparative Analysis” The presentation covered the good practices in all partner countries (Cyprus, Turkey, Belgium, France, Austria, Bulgaria) regarding training/learning opportunities available to seniors of ages 55+ , as well as the preliminary results of a survey regarding cognitive challenges the above target group phase in their everyday life, and more specifically regarding memory skills, attention/concentration skills, speed of processing skills, etc.

Testing the Play2Do Game with Experts in Cyprus

Small-scale Pilot Following the release of a complete version of the Play2Do game-based simulated practice environment, we held a small pilot testing with education experts in Nicosia, Cyprus. The meeting was held on Friday, 12/01/2018, at 15:30 – 18:00, at Presse Café (http://pressecafe.com.cy/en/stores/66/). Eight experts joined us in this pilot testing: one psychologist, one educator in elementary schools, two educators in high schools, two currently unemployed high school educators, one expert in assistive technology and special education and one from the Ministry of Education and Culture (policy making organisation).
